Most expat housing advice online is either a forum thread from 2019 or a sales pitch from an agent. This is neither.
Why this exists
Navigating Dutch housing as a newcomer means learning an unfamiliar system — BSN registration, huurcontracten, kosten koper — usually while also starting a job and figuring out where the nearest supermarket is. Most guidance is either too generic to be useful or written by someone trying to sell you something.
Nest Guide is a small, independent project: plain-language articles organised by where you actually are in the process, plus a directory of vetted professionals for anything that needs real, licensed advice.
What we are — and aren't
Professionals listed in our directory go through a verification step before publication. That's a check, not a guarantee — always use your own judgment when engaging any professional, and confirm anything specific to your situation with them directly.
